Anvil Studio - Anvil Studio is a free Windows program for multi-track recording, composing, and editing of audio and MIDI music files.

AWE 32 MIDI Player - If you have a Sound Blaster 32, AWE32, AWE64 or similar, with DRAM memory on the card, then you can load extra instruments to your soundcard. There are plenty of MIDI files written especialy for the AWE soundcards. They usually come with a file called a SoundFont Bank with an file extension of .SBK or .SF2. Normaly you have to launch the AWE 32 Control Panel and load the SoundFont file into User Bank 1, then launch your MIDI player and play your song. In AWE MIDI Player you only have to load the song. The sounds are loaded automaticaly, so you do not need to worry about the AWE 32 Control anymore. If you don't have AWE32, then the player acts like a common midi player.

CPS - CPS is a realtime interactive programming environment for audio, MIDI and other media & I/O. Patches are build by placing objects and making wires between them. Areas of interest are sound design, algorithmic composition, DSP, electronic/computer music and education. CPS can be used in any realtime situation where sound plays a role.

Crystal - Crystal is a semi-modular software synthesizer featuring both subtractive synthesis and frequency modulation (FM) synthesis. It offers abundant modulation control with over 90 parameters which may be modulated, multi-stage envelopes with graphical editors, extensive tempo sync of envelopes, lforates, delay times, built-in effects for chorus, flanging, comb filtering, echoes, and a band splitter for effects processing by frequency band.

Not just a remote control for the Windows Media Player, like some other players. This one appears to be built from the ground up which probably accounts for the unique functionality and features here.
